Worldbuilding: Aided the story
Plot: Ambiguous
Characters: Some more thought out than others
Storytelling: Balanced
Immersion: Satisfying, fulfilling experience
Emotional Response: Engaging
Thought Provoking: Focus on the story solely
Cover: Adequately represents the story
Content Warnings: rape, child slavery, child murder, violence, man bites victim's neck

Some readers might find the story too meandering with no real plot due to the reluctant hero trope. I personally loved the book and felt the lyrical prose to overcome the ferry captain's strive to be neutral in an upcoming civil war. I'd love to read the sequel sometime.
