We do not sell your data to any other companies or services. Some of your information (especially current IP address and browser) may be shared with other services in order to provide the features and functions of IndieStoryGeek.com.
When using our services, your IP address and the identifier and type of device being used may be known to us and logged for a period of time. When you sign up for an account, you may provide additional information, including but not limited to your name and email address, password (never stored in cleartext and unknown to us), and possibly a link to your own website. When submitting a book entry, review copy, review, or any other information, we will store all submitted data. If you email us, we may keep the content of those messages to refer to later, along with your email address and our responses. By providing IndieStoryGeek.com your email address, you consent to our using the email address to send you service-related notices, including any notices required by law.
Some of our features require the use of browser cookies such as choosing to have the site remember you. This will save a cookie to your computer so the site recognizes you automatically the next time you visit.
If you have an account on this site, you may request to receive an export of the personal data we still hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you which would result in the deletion of your account and all contributions - however this deletion will not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Most of your submitted data will be publically and freely shared with other users of the site and therefore will not be held privately. Passwords are encrypted with a hash, never stored as cleartext, and never shared. Log files and backups are frequently rotated and purged over time.
In the event of a data breach, we will do our best to contact account holders via email.
