Okay, in my defense, all I wanted was a different life. I didn’t want to be stuck on my family’s farm, but I also didn’t want to be rejected by all the universities I applied for…or the silver foxes who promised to help me get into them. We don’t always just get what we want. So I decide to take matters into my own hands. That’s how I wind up on that website. That’s how I meet the guy who promises me—oh, everything. Everything that counts, everything I want...and more. I should’ve known it was too good to be true. I should’ve known, from the minute he says we’re going to stop at his house on the way to our grand adventure. Now I can't leave without his permission, or bring anyone in without his approval. And forget about the rooms that glow, smelling like smoke and crackle like thunder—he won’t even acknowledge them. But that’s not the worst part: Turns out, there are other women trapped in here with us, and apparently, he has plans for them, too, including a sinister magic we’re forbidden to touch. It’s fucked up. Psychotic, even. I have no choice: I have to escape this nightmare before I end up trapped forever.
