A 27-year-old disoriented introvert. When not swamped with work, I'm most likely reading queer books, browsing Ao3, or looking for new queer shows to watch.

Eye of the Ouroboros

Eye of the Ouroboros by Megan Bontrager

Worldbuilding: Aided the story
Plot: Mostly clear
Characters: Some more thought out than others
Storytelling: Balanced
Immersion: Satisfying, fulfilling experience
Emotional Response: Engaging
Thought Provoking: New ideas came up
Cover: Adequately represents the story
Content Warnings: trauma, grief, alcoholism, graphic violence, blood, death, murder

I love the eeriness and otherworldliness of it all. I think the author was able to wield this concept of multiple realities to highlight personal horror, desperation, guilt, and grief.

How We End

How We End by LM Juniper

Worldbuilding: Didn’t add anything
Plot: Ambiguous
Characters: Unbalanced
Storytelling: Balanced
Immersion: Easy to switch to other tasks
Emotional Response: Didn’t feel much
Thought Provoking: Focus on the story solely
Cover: Adequately represents the story

This was enjoyable and entertaining enough. My biggest issue is somehow it didn't have that "umph" that hooked me or made me obsessed.
