Prince of the Apple Towns by Del Elle

Most people walk past James and Jones without a second glance. The signage is baffling, the windows are inexplicable, and the goldfish appears to be doing something physically impossible. But when Phillens Martens arrives with an apple-shaped brooch he desperately needs to be rid of, Jo and Jay find themselves drawn into a world of ancient towns, extraordinary objects and a dangerous contest for the title of Prince of the Apple Towns. With help from their not-so-receptionist Suzé, the two unconventional magical consultants must deal with a problem far stranger than their peculiar shop. Prince of the Apple Towns is a whimsical fantasy novelette and the first book in the James and Jones series.
