Necromancer's Lament by David Balog

The son of a village blacksmith, Mithron never expected that the path of wizardry would be an option, for it is well-known that the profession is reserved for the wealthy elite. That is until a travelling wizard recognizes his latent talent, and offers to teach him, much to the chagrin of his family. He proves to be an able student, but uncomfortable with the niceties of society.
