Naydrus is a dragon born to immense parents who live with and serve humans. When the dragonling hatches, it is revealed that she doesn't look anything like her family and she has a passion for fighting. However, she also carries a deep hatred for the hominid 'caretakers'. This inspires her escape from the city through the sewer system and her search for other dragons that share her mindset. However, the world is a big place and very old. Much has happened and continues to happen without Naydrus being aware of it, causing her to cross paths with dangerous individuals and end up in hazardous locations.

Naydrus and her mate have a lot of work to do to take their hatchlings back home. However, the golden hatchling seems to bring about the ire of the world, awakening things mindless or long since dormant. As the dragoness' family tries to return to their haven, monstrous, mutating horrors and greedy hominids come after them. Naydrus can only depend on her mate to get them home safely when the entire continent seems intent on devouring them.

Naydrus has found her haven! She learns how to be a dragon as she grows within its walls, but things don't become very easy when reality comes crashing in. With time, she becomes better and lays a golden egg in her very first clutch. An egg whose existence will warp the fabric of the world as everyone knows it.
